First off what is Ted’s woodworking? Well for those of you who may not know. Ted’s Woodworking is a online source that offers 16,000 plans on how to build woodworking projects.
There are a lot of people out there that say Ted’s woodworking is a scam and if you look them up on the Better Business Bureau they say that they are out of business because their address wasn’t found. Now I don’t know if this is because it is a online business and they don’t use a physical address? I can only speculate on that.
How ever there are other people that will tell you that they are legit.
Ted’s woodworking was first listed on Amazon in March 2016.
I have recently purchased it and have gone through a lot of the plans. In truth I can not say for sure if there are 16,000 or not. Furthermore I probably won’t take the time to count them either.
I can say this. There are a lot of plans in it .
Now for all the plans I have personally went through I did notice that some of them are of very good quality.
They have good step by step instructions, good photos and good lists of materials.
On the other hand I have also noticed that there quiet a few that are more generic.
Now I don’t know if he is just getting whatever he can to make up the 16,000? That is a lot of plans to be making on your own.
Another thing I noticed is there are some plans that are very similar. They have slightly different names and plans. For instance the plans for a porch swing and the plans for a deck seat, witch is a swing as well.
Now do I think it is worth the money? I would have to say yes. Mainly because there are a lot of good projects that beginners can use to build their woodworking abilities.
Then some of the others projects that don’t have the best of instructions will be pretty easy to figure out.
